SHIP REGISTRATIONAn International Business Company can register a ship or pleasure craft in Antigua under the provisions of the IBC Act 1982. Registration and incorporation usually takes about three (3) days. Requirements for Application
- Registration application
- A survey certificate
- A certificate of the ship's seaworthiness
- Proof of ownership
- If previously registered, document of cancellation from a foreign registry
- Intended name of vessel, while under the Flag of Antigua and Barbuda
- Present name of ship, if currently registered
- Number, year, and port of registry, if currently registered
- Call sign, if currently registered
- Proposed date of registration under the Antigua Flag
- Classification Society
- Radio Accounting Authority
- Biographical data on the vessel's owner: name, address, telephone and telex number
- If previously registered, photocopy of present certificate of registration
- Photocopy of vessel's present trading certificates
- Payment of registration fees
In order for the registration to be successful, the following requirements must be met:
- All requested documentation has been received.
- The vessel is in class and is not older than 14 years.
(Exceptions are possible upon inspection by an appointed surveyor)
- The vessel status is satisfactory.
